St. John offers a scholarship for members pursuing post hight school education includeing trade school, college, universities, post-graduate work, seminaries, etc. in the coming school year. To be eligible to receive this scholarship, the applicant must:

  • Be a member in good standing of St. John
  • Apply for the scholarship and submit a completed application to the Pastor prior to July 1 for the school year following.
  • Must attend an accredited school.

In support of our desire to promote and provide Christ-centered education, recreation, and inspiration for the youth of our church, St. John provides scholarships to attend summer camp at Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca.  Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca is a year-round recreational and camping environment affiliated with the Iowa District East of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Who Can Apply for a Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca Scholarship?  Any member of St. John attending events at Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca, 3271 Sandy Beach Road NE, Solon, IA

How much is the Scholarship Award? 75% of camp fees per camper ($275 maximum) – one time per calendar year. Discounts for early registration are available, so we do encourage you to apply early to take advantage of them!

What if I cannot attend the camp after I apply for the scholarship award?   If the camper is unable to attend camp, scholarship award must be returned to St. John Lutheran Church.
