God is so good! What a blessing to share the good news that though we sin, Jesus is greater than all of it! We started the afternoon with a flashlight scavenger hunt to find the words to our verse of the day. Next up, we took turns trying to hit the bullseye and talked about how Jesus was the only one to “hit the bullseye” on our sin problem. On to snacks and a video. Our volunteers did a great job performing the skit of the day. Before Pastor Schlie arrived for our lesson, we had an object lesson to demonstrate Jesus’s cleansing power! Pastor then talked with the kids about what sin is, where it comes from and how Jesus is greater than all our sins and when we confess them and ask for forgiveness, he has the power to forgive and clean us up again. We finished the afternoon with some crafts, making Valentine cards to share with Denver Sunset Home residents, heart hand warmers to take home and quilt blocks that the LWML ladies will sew into a fun quilt that will be donated. Our next Kids of the Kingdom will be on March 4th. As always, we’re so glad to this time to share the gospel with your precious children. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at 319-231-1580 or Pastor Schlie at 260-750-0061.
Donald and Justin were confirmed February 4th. Congratulations.
2025 Children's Christmas Program
The children, Pastor and his family presented a Christmas program after church on December 14th based on the sweet and humble Christmas carol that tells the Nativity story from a unique perspective - hat of the animals present at Jesus birth. Thanks to the LYF youth who helped out with the readings, to Gayle Rector and Cristina Nolan planning and helping the children. Baby Gregory was a perfect Baby Jesus in the manger!
LWML Festival of Trees Entry
The LWML had a tree at the Denver Community Festival of trees. Thanks to the volunteers who helped decorate the tree and dismantle it! The red birds that adorned the tree and the barn beneath it were shared by the Jaschens. Thanks for sharing! The birdseed balls that were made for it are in the Narthex. Help yourself to them and hang them out for our feathered friends in your neighborhood!
